Semeotics and LIIAR Analysis

LANGUAGE- This is how the text is constructed via the camera angles, pictures, sound etc. For example in the trebor advert the unicorns eye level is greater than the humans showing that the unicorn has reater power and is one of the most elite

INSTITUTION- This is the key concepts to do with communication

IDEOLOGY- An ideology is the world view, attitudes and beliefs which an individual or group hold to be important within the media business.

AUDIENCE- All media texts and scripts are based on an audience and are edited to entertain the audience and make them want to read or watch the piece of media that is being shown.

REPRESENTATION- This is how the media is represented and how it is understood by the certain people that view it. Media can be represented in many types of ways by many types of people.

Position Signs: the camera and the viewer

  • The muzzle of unicorn is the focal point, drawing attention to the mint.
  • The unicorns gaze is above the view point of the viewers- meaning the humans are not as large as the unicorn showing great power from the unicorn. This relates to the word 'discerning' from the Trebor slogan and the fact that (although not real) unicorns are considered very rare and the most elite of horses.
Treatment Signs: devices of filming and of processing

  • The white background is not an obvious choice against which to depict a white unicorn and mint. But the white adds an element of fantasy that links in with the unicron affect

Brief
