Reader profile research

Reader profile is almost the target audience for the specific type of magazine, it is the information and background information on the people who actually read that specific magazine. It is important to know the reader profile so the magazine can adapt to their interests and needs to therefore entice them and want to buy it. Also so they can add extra things in for new readers.

I think the reader of my magazine will want to be updated on the latest news in the music industry and out of the music industry. Also they will want to be told about up coming events and be given offers on specific things for example; 50% off Top man card, free ticket competitions. Another thing they may want is interviews and specific information of their favorite artists and bands across the globe, this will be a key element in the magazine because it will be the main reason many people will buy the magazine.

The purpose of a reader profile is to know the type of people you are aiming your magazine at and know the specific wants and needs of the readers. By having this information it means that you can make your magazine specific to that of the readers meaning they will want to buy the magazine whenever the latest one is out, this will increase sales and therefore increase the revenue that the magazine owner makes.
